We review the vampire film Let Me In.
Directed by: Matt Reeves
Starring: Chloe Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee
Talking about CG, the killer cats were missing 🙁
I think the change in location from Sweeden to the US lost something in itself. The dad not being there at all and the mum being flanderized into religious fanatics out of nowhere was off. The bullies were far more menacing in the original somehow despite beating him up less.
It cut some details out of the original, and lacked the subtlety (the cop is spelling it out), the 'life cycle of a vampire' thing gone, there's an exotic aura gone from it. I think there's reason for an english language version of it – but why change some things? It's a very good copy though.
