#36 – KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (THE DIRECTOR’S CUT) MOVIE REVIEW

Caleb has seen the theatrical cut of Kingdom of Heaven many times. But this is his first viewing of the Director’s Cut. What did he think? Starring Orlando Bloom, Eva Green, Jeremy Irons, David Thewlis, and Liam Neeson. Directed by Ridley Scott.

Good review

Glad to watch such an enthusiastic review. My major beef with the theatrical cut was the truncated shipwreck. I suspected at the time that there was a sequence cut from the movie. When I saw Scott was going to release a longer director's cut I was hoping there was more there. I was wrong. We still go from a scene with Thewlis' character to a short (and very cheap) scene on the ship to Balian waking up on the beach. The rest of the director's cut, while fine, didn't really add much to the overall message or feeling of the film for me.
